Dennis Murphy has appeared on more than 30 albums including Acoustic Alchemy’s Grammy-nominated recording, Arcanum, as well as their follow up release, Positive Thinking. He’s performed at national and international jazz festivals worldwide, and he has extensive touring experience, including the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe, Southeast Asia and the UK. He has played around the world at every major entertainment venue; places like Hard Rock Café, House of Blues and Disney theme parks. He’s appeared on major video and television shoots and has played live on National Public Radio. Dennis Murphy is a sensitive, disciplined, supportive player who has extensive experience in all styles including jazz, Latin, funk, Brazilian and pop/rock.

A Monterey Bay area resident, Dennis Murphy was born and raised in Salinas, California. Having toured with the likes of Acoustic Alchemy, Maria Maldaur, Billy Preston, The Drifters, The Coasters, The Shirelles and the Marvelettes, just to name a few, Dennis, while currently holding down the bass chair with the 80's Rock legend GREG KHIN BAND, has enjoyed great success leading his own band for private parties for a number of years.

Dennis Murphy’s 1999 debut CD Hit Me Hard includes guest appearances by sax man Eric Marienthal, Avenue Blue’s Jeff Golub and the Yellowjackets’ drummer, Will Kennedy.

Dennis' latest release Rediscovery, is a return to the Big Band Era with an 18-Piece Big Band that features timeless Frank Sinatra arrangements. Dennis performed these selections live wtih his 18-Piece Big Band to sell-out crowds of 750 in June of 2005!
